"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him." - John 3:16-17
"This is the way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only son into the world that we might have life through him" - 1 John 4:9
God shows us in Jesus Christ the full depth of his merciful love. Through Jesus Christ the invisible God becomes visible. He becomes a man like us. This shows us how far God's love goes: He walks every path with us. He is there in our abandonment, our sufferings, our fear of death. He is there when we can go no father, so as to open up for us the door leading into life." - YouCat 9
In a great act of love, God chose to send His Son, Jesus to come to save us.
God entered the world as a baby—weak, vulnerable, and humble. In Jesus, God has shared our every experience—in all of our joys and struggles—in our sufferings and our celebrations.
God is with us in our human experience, even to the point of death.
Jesus’ love infinite, unconditional, and sacrificial is first made known to us when he became human so that he could be experience everything with us.
Lord, I can hardly imagine your love for me.
It’s hard to believe you became so vulnerable to become human like us.
Jesus, you too know what it is like to be human —knowing warmth and comfort, as well as cold and pain.
You know the joy of being human: the love of a family, friendship, and celebration.
But you also know my heartache: when a friend has rejected me, when a loved one has died when I suffer physical pain, or when life seems overwhelming.
Lord help me to remember that you understand all my experiences and that you want to celebrate my victories and support me in my failures.
