What is IMPACT?

What? IMPACT is a two-year formation program facilitated by the Archdiocese of Dubuque. IMPACT utilizes the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Scripture, spiritual reading, and dynamic presenters to guide participants in spiritual, theological, intellectual, and pastoral formation in the Catholic faith, in order to help participants live as missionary disciples in their parish and community. Through study, prayer, reflection, and conversation, participants are challenged to respond more fully to Jesus’ call to mission—to IMPACT our world!

Who? IMPACT is open to any adult who desires a deeper relationship with Christ and a greater understanding of the Catholic faith in order to better serve others through leadership.

When? The next IMPACT cohort will begin meeting in September of 2023 and the program will end in May of 2025.

Year One (2023-2024) will open with a two-day retreat on September 9-10, 2023.

Monthly sessions for Year 1 will be held on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM from October through May.

Year Two (2023-2025) will open with a one-day retreat on September 7, 2024.

Year Two monthly sessions will be held on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM from October through April. The IMPACT program will conclude with a Commissioning Ceremony and closing Mass on May 3, 2025.

Where? Monthly IMPACT sessions will be held at Resurrection Catholic School in Dubuque.

How? By participating with a spirit of enthusiasm and openness, participants are responsible for attending all sessions, reading the assigned materials, writing reflections, participating in large and small group discussions, and meeting with a spiritual mentor.

Cost: The total cost of the two-year program is $600, with one-half paid by the participant and one-half paid by the parish. When an applicant is sponsored by the parish, the participant and the parish will each cover one-half of the annual cost*. Participants may choose to enroll without parish sponsorship, but will be responsible for the entire cost of $300 per year. 
*A grant is available to parish or Catholic school employees who wish to participate in the IMPACT program.
