K-Grade 2

Grades 3-5
1. Know that studying and sharing Scripture with others helps us to learn how God is acting in our lives.
2. Know that the Homily explains the readings of the day.
1. Discuss the Sunday readings and the Homily.
2. Discuss Scripture and apply it to their lives.
3. Identify and discuss Christian values in a Scripture story.
4. Share Scripture stories as a group through drama, art, music, technology, etc.
Grades 6-8
1. Know that studying and sharing Scripture with others is helpful to faith development.
2. Know that the Homily explains the readings of the day and applies the message to one’s life.
1. Discuss the Sunday readings and the Homily.
2. Connect Scripture to their own life experiences.
3. Discuss the value of studying Scripture with others as a means to enrich their faith lives. (Matthew 18:20 – “ For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in the midst of them.”)
4. Compare the values in Scripture to the Church’s teachings on social justice as a basis of their lifelong journey in faith.
5. Share Scripture Stories as a group through drama, art, music, technology, etc.
