February 3 – St. Blaise

• The physician St. Blaise helped a young boy who had a fishbone stuck in his throat. 
• The annual blessing of throats coincides with the commemoration of St. Blaise. 

• St. Agatha suffered sexual assault and indignity because of her faith and purity
• She is the patron of survivors of sexual assault, and the protector of women who are in danger.

• St. Paul Miki and his friends were Japanese missionaries who died for their faith.

• St. Josephine was a slave who later became a religious sister.

• St. Scholastica and her twin brother, St. Benedict, gave themselves totally to God, sacrificing even their time together as a family in order to fulfill their religious vocations.
