Date: Wednesday, August 14
Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: St. Mary, Waverly
Faith Formation is often imagined as a time when we gather people so they can listen to the wisdom of the Church. However, Faith Formation is likely to be more effective when accompanying others with authentic listening. This day will be an opportunity to consider the importance of listening to others and to develop listening skills to improve the ability to relationally accompany others.
Whether you work with children, parents, teens, young adults, or older adults, this day will help you to embrace your role as one who listens to parishioners. Our speaker, Archbishop Thomas Zinkula will give an overview of the values of listening. We will spend the rest of the day exploring practical steps and case studies of meaningful encounters in which listening would be essential.
The day will give FFLs the chance to network with one another, pick up some great ideas, and gain a renewed sense of mission as we begin a new program year.
Cost is $35. If the cost is prohibitive, please contact the Faith Formation Team to inquire about financial assistance.
