May 1 – St. Joseph the Worker

May 3 – St. James the Lesser
This Apostle and cousin of Jesus, and witness to His resurrection, is the author of the Epistle that bears his name. St.James is the patron of pharmacists and the dying.
May 3 – St. Philip the Apostle
St. Philip was a fisherman who is well-known for introducing his friend Nathaniel to Jesus. Philip was present when Jesus fed the 5000. He is the patron of pastry chefs and hat makers.
May 6 – St. Dominic Savio
Dominic Savio was an Italian student of John Bosco. He was studying to be a priest when he became ill and died at the age of 14, possibly from pleurisy. He was noted for his piety and devotion to the Catholic faith. Dominic is the patron of choirboys, the falsely accused, and juvenile delinquents.
May 14 – St. Matthias
St. Matthias had been with Jesus through his whole earthly ministry. After Judas’ betrayal, Matthias was elected to become the twelfth apostle. He is the patron of carpenters, tailors, and people who need hope.
May 15 – St. Isidore the Farmer
When Isidore was very young, he began to work for a wealthy landowner. He visited with God as he attended Mass each morning and worked in the fields. Isidore is known for his love of the poor. Patron of farmers and rural laborers.
May 15 – St. Dymphna
St. Dymphna is the patroness of persons with mental illness. Many reports of miraculous curing of mental, emotional, and neurological afflictions have been attributed to her. Additional information about St. Dymphna can be found here.
May 26 – St. Philip Neri
St. Philip was known for being cheerful and obedient. He felt a call from the Holy Spirit to live and serve Jesus and His Church. He loved to share the Gospel and help people find their faith in Jesus. St. Philip is the patron of joy.
May 30 – St. Joan of Arc
St. Joan is the patroness of France, soldiers, and those who need protection. At age 13, she had visions of St. Michael, St. Catherine, and St. Margaret, each telling her to drive the English from French territory. After many battles and imprisonment, St. Joan was condemned and sentenced to execution by burning, and her ashes were thrown into the Seine River.
