On October 2, 2021, DJ Jaeger went to his heavenly reward. DJ Jaeger was a very faithful friend. For many years DJ was involved with Archdiocesan outreach activities to persons with disabilities. He was a valued member of a number of committees and DJ was an essential member of a group of people who volunteered to develop, plan and present retreats for people with disabilities, their families, friends and caregivers throughout the archdiocese. He served at retreats at Albrecht Acres in Sherrill, Camp Courageous in Monticello, and Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca near Cedar Rapids, along with many renewal days spread throughout the area, and many other inclusive events held throughout the years. Because he himself was disabled, DJ's presentations always had a powerful influence on all in attendance, but especially on other persons living with disabilities. DJ welcomed everyone. He assisted all who needed help or a little extra care. He was a guiding light to all those who attended the retreats, renewal days, outreach, and welcoming activities. DJ cared very deeply for those amongst us who are often rejected by much of society. He saw a spark of the divine in every person. DJ has been a great gift from God to all of us, and has been an example of how to live a Christian life.
