The new and updated Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), which will replace the RCIA, will be published on November 1, 2024. Use of the new text may begin on December 1, 2024 (the 1st Sunday of Advent). Implementation of the new text is mandatory starting on March 5, 2024 (Ash Wednesday). In order to help parish leaders be prepared, the Archdiocese of Dubuque is hosting a formation day on "Implementing the Vision of the New Order of Christian." Please see the details below.

Scott Sollom will be the featured speaker at this formation day on the new OCIA. Scott is the Associate Chair of Theology and the Director of the Catechetical Institute at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. He has conducted RCIA/OCIA training workshops around the country and the world, including presentations with the Association for Catechumenal Ministry and Symbolon. Before returning to Steubenville, he served as DRE in Stillwater, MN; DRE in College Station, TX; and youth minister in Hudson, Wisconsin. Scott and his wife, Mary, have five wonderful children.
