There are numerous opportunities for individuals, Catholic organizations, businesses, and others to partner with the Archdiocese of Dubuque, parishes, schools, the Our Faith STO or the Catholic Foundation for the Archdiocese of Dubuque to better build the Kingdom of God. These partnerships include ways to help parishes, seminarians, retired priests, Catholic Charities, families desirous of school choice, and so many more to Share Jesus Love.
These partnerships also include prayer and volunteer opportunities.
"Everyone of us needs half an hour of prayer each day," remarked St. Francis de Sales, "except when we are busy—then we need an hour."
STEWARDSHIP PRAYER O Lord, giver of life and source of freedom, I know that all I have received is from your hand. Gracious and loving God, You call us to be stewards of Your abundance, the caretakers of all you have entrusted to us. Help us to always use Your gifts wisely and teach us to share them generously. Send the Holy Spirit to work through us, bringing Your message to those we serve. May our faithful stewardship bear witness to the love of Jesus Christ in our lives. We pray with grateful hearts, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Financial opportunities range from cash to planned giving, from appreciated stock to grain, from credit cards to real estate to annuities. The Archdiocese of Dubuque can work to help all maximize these partnerships to ensure that financial gifts create the avenues to support the mission of the Roman Catholic Church, archdiocesan entities and/or projects that anyone partnering with the archdiocese would support.
Archdiocesan seminarians
Archdiocesan seminarians – Excellent formation of the next generation of priests is vital to the good of the archdiocese. All men of typical college age and those needing preparatory formation for major seminary attend St. Pius X Seminary, a partnership program with Loras College. This formation lasts for two to four years. The Archdiocese of Dubuque partners with Mundelein Seminary for major seminary. Consider partnering with the Archdiocese of Dubuque to support the formation and education of the next generation of priests who will serve the faithful.
Retired Archdiocesan Priests / St. Raphael Priest Fund
Priests give freely of themselves throughout their life of service to God and to the faithful. Many retire relying heavily on Social Security and limited savings accounts. The Archdiocese of Dubuque provides some funds to assist them, but as more men reach retirement age, the financial stress grows. In addition to supporting them with financial assistance, it is good to pray for them.
Archdiocesan Parishes
Parishes are the backbone of the Catholic faith. It is within parishes that the faithful receive the Sacraments, experience the healing love of Jesus, and participate in the community of believers. It is fundamental, as part of the spiritual journey that support for parishes occurs with time, talent, and yes treasure. Schools of the Archdiocese
Catholic Schools have a primary objective fostering a child’s on-going formation along with the development of his/her God-given talents. There are many ways that you can support a Catholic school. These ways range from making a gift towards tuition assistance to make Catholic education more attainable to lower-income families, a parish bequest restricted to supporting religious education (especially Catholic schools), a gift towards current or future academic programs, a simple prayer asking for God’s mercy for students, faculty and parents, and so much more. Contact a Catholic school administrator or pastor for guidance on what ways a bequest can be of the most help. A complete list of all Catholic schools can be found here.
School Tuition Assistance
Assisting families to be able to send their children to a Catholic School regardless of family income is an important Catholic value. Families, particularly those whose income is at or below 400% of the federal poverty rate, struggle to pay tuition. The Our Faith STO program provides millions of dollars in assistance annually to families. Please consider a gift to this important program. All gifts qualify for a 75% Iowa income tax credit and partial federal deductibility as a charitable contribution. For more information, click here.
Catholic Charities
There are numerous ways that you can support and be involved with Catholic Charities. First and foremost we ask for your prayers and encourage you to be aware and educate yourself on the social justice issues facing individuals in our communities. Additionally, Catholic Charities warmly welcomes supporters who would like to volunteer with one of our programs or make a donation to help meet the continuing needs of our programs and clients.
Memorial Opportunities
Remembering those who have passed away through memorial gifts to any archdiocesan parish, school, or program is a wonderful way to honor the dearly departed.
