Each year, there is a Fall PLSD (typically in October) and a Spring PLSD (typically in April).

Location: Bien Venu Convention Center, Cedar Falls (7400 Hudson Rd., Cedar Falls)

Description:
Tension is a normal part of any working relationship, even in church life: Negotiating a salary. Giving and receiving performance feedback. Talking about differences in direction. None of these is easy. How we choose to manage our tensions, however, either fragments our working relationships or matures them, enabling us to more fully live our mission in the world. Speaking out of her own experience as a lay minister and conflict mediator, Ann Garrido will share a framework for analyzing the ordinary tensions of working in a parish and concrete practices to constructively engage the tough conversations that need to be had.
Keynote Speaker: Ann M. Garrido is associate professor of homiletics at Aquinas Institute of Theology and a consultant with Triad Consulting Group, a conflict mediation and communications team. She is the author of numerous books and articles in the field of church
leadership and ministry.
