IIn light of the National Eucharistic Revival, the Archdiocesan Synodal process, and efforts to re-
attract people to the Sunday Assembly beyond the pandemic, this PLSD will focus on ways to
embrace and share the beauty of the source and summit of our Christian faith, the Eucharist. The day will include keynote talks by Fr. Brian Welter, one of the Eucharistic Preachers for the
National Eucharistic Revival, and opportunities to explore practical steps to re-engage people in
the beauty of the Eucharist.
Keynote Speaker: Fr. Brian Welter is the Executive Director of the Institute for Priestly Formation (IPF), which is based in Omaha, NE. The mission of IPF, in collaboration with Catholic seminaries and dioceses, is to form and accompany seminarians, priests, and bishops in their ongoing spiritual growth so they may better lead others to Christ. Fr. Welter was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2005. He served as their Vocation Director for the from 2010-2013 and then was assigned as a faculty member at Mundelein Seminary in 2013, where he served as Director of Spiritual Formation before being appointed to the role of Vice Rector
in 2016, where he served until he taking his current role at IPF in July of 2020. He is one of 50 Eucharistic Preachers who have been commissioned as part of the National Eucharistic Revival to enkindle the flame of eucharistic faith and devotion through kerygmatic eucharistic preaching.
