YML Summit

Let's face it! Youth Ministry is different now than it was just five years ago.

The task that we are called to is much more than simply gathering teens. We are called to do something... different... meaningful... and live-changing.

The YML Summit is a day for all who work with pre-teens and teens (Grades 6-12) to gather for a targeted discussion on how the Church can best serve our young parishioners. 

At the YML Summit, you will:

• explore your hopes and dreams for the young people of your parish(es).
• Discuss new methods and philosophies of teen-centered ministry.
• Imagine ways that your current programs be amended to better address the needs of your young people.

This will be a practical discussion. You will leave with concrete ideas and resources. Most importantly, though, you will leave as a valued member of a network of Youth Ministry Leaders in the Archdiocese of Dubuque who can support and equip one another!

Location: St. Stephen the Witness, Cedar Falls (1019 West 23rd Street)
Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Cost: $25 (includes morning snacks, lunch, and materials)
Who: Any Faith Formation Leader (FFL) who works with parishioners in grades 6 - 12.
Schedule:

• 9:00 AM - Getting to know you. Introductions and overview of what each parish is doing.
• 10:00 AM - A Process of Youth Faith Development
  • (presentations and discussions with YMLs)
• 11:45 AM - Prayer
• 12:00 PM - Lunch
• 1:00 PM - Confirmation Prep
  • (applying Faith Development to our most popular programming)
• 2:00 PM - Big Tent Events in Youth Ministry

• 3:00 PM - What's Next? Exploring the Future of Youth Ministry.
• 4:00 PM - Closing Time.
